Hey Bjorn,

There's been some discussion of this in several forums. It seems the technology has been around for some time. the Landsat 7 satellite, which helps capture those images on Google Earth, and the unmanned drone airplane used by US military both use panchromatic sensors.

Kodak's sensors are purposed for tiny ccd's like the ones in pos cameras or cell phones. I've read that if this technology were used in larger aps-c or full frame will only lead to more near-neighbor calculations and reduced sharpness. Perhaps better suited for the foveon sensor though...
