There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

This guy who posts a lot of B&W street photography on PhotoSIG has some very charismatic and atmospheric images he has shot on the streets of Thailand. Here is a link to a recent post of his that I liked:

http://www.photosig.com/go/photos/view;jsessionid=akaEVxkB0qvagdNfEl?id=1998674

You might need to sign up for a free account on PhotoSIG first in order to access the image.

Thanks for that link, there's a huge collection to browse and from what I've seen so far travel photography doesnt come much better. Superb.

Agreed. B&W is not an easy medium to use in the first place. It takes a good understanding of light and contrast and street photography is also challenging. He has done a very nice job.

Thanks Mark and hello everyone, but really, too bad the guy withdrew so many of his pix, which are left as thumbnails only. very frustrating experience...

Yes, I noticed that. I had once sent him a message through the PhotoSIG system and invited him to post some in our forum.

The Slums Are good For photography., work your way in slowly. Get trusted and then they become safe-ish too. Communication and empathy are the keys that facilitate this.
