There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

The link to the following photo won the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for photography for 2007. I thought it was interesting:

That is a powerful photo and the black policemen are so indicative of the dark forces that come down over parts of our world. Thanks for posting Marc. I'm just reading about the award now. Interesting. Makes me wonder if I could handle being in situations like that. It must be such an adrenaline rush every day to cover these events.

Yes, I believe there are certain types of photographers who thrive on that rush. Personally I am not one of them, but it takes all kinds. Some photographers like to be locked in a room photographing inanimate objects like coffee cups all day. So it just comes down to an individual level I believe.

Great moment, I sure hope that's not dust on the sensor in the sky on the right >

I saw that too but just discounted it as shrapnel or helicopter or something. I couldn't believe that it would be sensor dust I guess. But you know it really does look like it - though a bit dark really. I wonder what type of camera was used there. In situations like that I suppose if you were changing lenses you would not be too fussy about something getting inside. If something did then it's a really nasty dark one. It doesn't look like a helicopter though.
