There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

hello everyone,
new to these forums, and actualy to the photography world as well.

i am trying to get together an amatour home studio.
actualy i have a nice home studio but for paintings and my work, now i am trying to put in a photography "corner"
i was thinking about hanging a curtain along the wall, concealing bookshelves etc, so i will have a solid background,
but am a bit perplexed about the lighting.
it will be mainly portraits, or half body (unfortunatly, the space is a little limited)

can anyone point me to a relyable source or store here in bangkok,
where i can purchase not-too-expensive lights (hot lights or strobes....at this point its more a matter of budjet)
how many lights should i get? are two standing lights and a reflector enough?
what should be abudjet for such a project? (remember, this is for artsy stuff....so no revenue is expected at this point...)

by the way, using only a fujifilm 9500s which is not a very sophisticated camera so control of the lighting is very important.

will be thankfull for any input on this.

Best regards,

Shalom Boaz,
you may use clip on lights, cilp on lights with reflectors and some foem core and you have a perfectly useble stodio lighting for your use. dont forget to cover the windows so the daylight effect your lighting colors.
you can go much fancier then this (And i do) however this will answere you needs and not break the bank...
cheers
