I don't want to discourage anyone from answering you but there are already lots of great places that answer these kind of questions in depth like www.dpreview.com or www.fredmiranda.com

This forum is more for stuff specific to Thailand and the region. Like where to buy your Sony Alpha100 should you choose to get it, or are there some cameras better suited to Thailand than others (though apart from weather sealing because of the humidity--only available in the Pentax K10D in that price range--I don't well see what could make a camera better suited to Thailand than another).

Gregoire, I am also planning to buy one as it is compatible to all my Minolta lenses, it will cost me more if I change to a new model so whether they tell me if it is good or not I have no choice. I heard it is cheaper in Penang than Bangkok but if you hear anything let me know and likewise I will keep you posted too. Thanks.

A friend has bought one, and it has top reviews, I seem to understand pixels are a bit over-sharpened, but as Greg said, check the DPreview site, it's exhaustive in its tests and conclusions. Of note, make sure the new Sony lenses will be avialable as well if you don't have old Mionlta ones, because my friend found out very few are out and will be before the spring (there will always be a kit lens to start with). Not sure why Sony did not coordinate the 2 products availability, Camera and lenses, probably trying to get the thing out before the others, for the pro-sumer, entry level market?

PS: Hi Greg, the PTF can take a little traffic these Holydays, and there is "Thailand" in his post....after all :-) .

Can any one tell me how much the A100 is in Baht, body inc twin lense kit. I purchased the sony F828 a few years ago at MBK in bangkok. Any cheaper stores in bangkok??

Thanks again

Own a Sony F717 and F828. Won't comment on either except Sony provides excellent SERVICE!! Fast friendly and inexpensive.
I do suggest waiting out the introduction period though. Sony reduces price a bundle when "next generation" appears.
