Seasons' greetings to all the forum members and guests. I stumbled across the forum by accident and am very impressed with the content and setup. Well done Marc.

I live in Phuket and my wife and I will be driving up to Northern Thailand in a couple of weeks. We have no set time frame so will be stopping wherever we like. My focus is mainly on landscape, wildlife and nature photography and I would be grateful for some advise from members who have traveled up the west coast on locations that are worth a stop off the beaten track (or on if it's worth it).

Welcome to the Forum Gary.

I enjoyed the pictures on your web site taken of boats in Inlay Lake in Myanmar.

I am not much of a landscape or wildlife photographer so I can't add much to your request, but others may have some good insight to add.

The national parks are always good though and you may find this link has useful information about national parks in Thailand:

Thanks Marc. I'm in the process of a complete redesign of the website using Flash which I'm learning slowly. That will be another topic in the near future. I've done a fair bit of research on the national parks and plan to visit many of them but I'm hoping for some feedback from others who have been to some of them and done some exploring.

Some great work on your site Gary,
I love the b/w dunes, welcome to the forum and to the north of Thailand, be sure to take some warm clothes, it's very cold at night here.

Gary, you can add your web site as a signature to all your message postings if you like by clicking on the "Profile" icon and then click on the link for "Forum Profile Information". In there you will see an area for a signature. Grin

Hi Gary, if in Chiang Mai, the Mae Rim valley loop (starting 30kms north of the city, then going west) is one of my favorite rides out of Chiang Mai. Especially, make sure you get down to Samoeng and take the road up the mountain (going right when you reach the end of the road into Samoeng), beautiful vistas as it ascends. That is if you meant Chiang mai, and in this case, get the Nancy Chandler map of things to do and see in and out of the city. It's choked full of ideas to roam around.
