There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

Inspired by Marcs "Sunday Tinker" photograph (original thread is here http://www.photographythailand.com/Forum/index.php?topic=621.0) I long wanted to replicate the idea just to learn about lighting. Sorry for plagiarism, Marc. I loved your concept.

Tonight I set up a quick studio in my garage. I do not have studio equipment or lighting. So I used Nikon SB800 flash mounted remotely and fitted with a LSPJII diffuser. The light source was directed and background as Marc suggested. I did some pping on the image such as cloning some bits of background (unironed bed sheet) and curves, followed by B&W conversion.

Would love your opinions. This is a very quick shot. I want to improve on this technique.

I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone a great holiday.

Cheers

Let me just add that it's by no means even remotely close to Marc's excellent achievement.
