There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

Noorderlicht 2006 Photofestival:
Photography from South and Southeast Asia
Last call for submissions

This is a message to remind everyone that the official deadline for open submissions to the Noorderlicht 2006 Photofestival is due very soon.

The research for the festival is progressing nicely, but we are still searching for good work to consider for the programming.

The following countries are included in the upcoming festival: India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Myanmar (former Burma), Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Papua New Guinea, East Timor, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Maldives and the Philippines.

Have you photographed in this region, do you know photographers whose work we should see, do you have other suggestions? Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.

Especially ideas from/about photographers from those countries themselves are invited.

Noorderlicht 2006 is a large international photofestival, introducing photography from a different part of the world to a new audience. Noorderlicht is known for its combination of high quality photography and telling compelling stories about the world we live in.
The festival takes place in the Netherlands in September this year and will be accompanied by a luxurious catalogue.

For general information on Noorderlicht 2006, see:

  http://www.noorderlicht.com/eng/newfest/

For submission guidelines, see:

  http://www.noorderlicht.com/eng/info/pandora.html

Submissions, ideas and questions can be sent directly to curator Wim Melis:

  wim@noorderlicht.com

The exhibitions will be made available for touring afterwards. The previous non-western festival, NAZAR on the Arab countries, travelled all over the world. Are you an organiser interested in hosting an exhibition? Please let us know in time.

Hi Marc,

Just a question, though it might not be in the right section of the forum. I have a photo exhibition at Tang Gallery soon, and wanted to announce it in the Exhibition section. But I could not find a way to attach pictures. Is there any. Thanks, and thanks for that very nice and uselful forum.
