There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

Dear photographers,

Which type of LCD (brand, size, resolution) do you use to edit your pictures?

Do some of you use equipment such as vision spyder to calibrate your LCD screen?

I am considering a 17" LCD screen and have heard some eizo was a very good choice but expensive.

So thanks for any feedback.

I would go for a good CRT screen, for photography the quality of TFT screens is just not good enough (yet)

I have heard good things about Eizo as well. I use an Apple 20" LCD Cinema Display (which I use with a PC in fact) and according to CNET at the time I bought it, it was one of the only LCD screens at a quality level suitable for graphics. I find it to be better in terms of display than any CRT monitor I have ever owned, but then again it should be for more than double the price.

At this point I would tend to disagree with Bjorn's comment that TFT screens are not good enough yet for photography. Again, if you go onto CNET you can read some good reviews on LCD/TFT screens and it seems the ones to watch are the ones made by Apple, Dell, and Viewsonic. You can see a whole bunch of 17" LCD monitor reviews here on this link on CNET and there are links at the top for reviews on other LCD monitor sizes as well:

This link also explains how CNET test screens:
