There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

Hey all, I just signed up for the Alliance Francaise Fashion Photography course. Anyone else here signed up?
Thought maybe we could keep a thread going with our impressions on the course...

Hi, CW,
Yes I did sign up with two other friends, so that makes 4 students total so far.  AF said  they will strictly limit the class size to 10 students.  They had 12 the last time and it was too much, I heard.  For those interested, register soon.  Anna

The Alliance Francaise Fashion Photography class has met twice now. My first impressions of our instructor are very positive, though I am not too sure about his teaching methodology. As a teacher myself, I suppose I can be quite critical. The assignment was very vague; we were given a word (mine was fashionable) and told to take photos of basically eachother (I geuss the model never showed) in creative way to illustrate the word. Most of the students in the class were still tring to figure out how to use their cameras with the studio flashes.

Here is my fist shot from the class.

Its a little messy and I should probably clean it up a bit. What do you think?

Yes, I am just getting the red "X" now too. Sorry. Yesterday it was working and I have enabled all the right settings on the Forum I believe to display linked images like this. Anyway, now that I have upgraded the Gallery software, and substantially increased its functionality in the process, I would like to encourage people to post all of their images there in the Gallery from now on.

If you take a look at the Gallery section now and read my post (link below) about the upgrades to the Gallery, I think you will find it a lot more functional on many levels.

Thanks for the tip. Uploaded to the site; it should be fixed.

Here is the next installment; This time we had 'real' models!! The theme was something like "less is more", though I don't really know if any of us got it... It was an a mock underwear shoot, but somehow this wool blanket showed up...

I really like the photo. I feel that it looks very professional. I did some touch ups but kept it minimal. Enjoy

Good fashion shot, just wish all the hair was in!

Hi CW
I presume that  your AF course is over.
What is your final opinion about it?

To be honest,

I dropped the course a few classes before the last. I was disappointed a bit more each class and, without being too blunt, felt that it takes more to be a teacher than just showing up.
