There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

Hi all,

I would like to do a project photographing the group of unfinished apartment buildings not far from Impact Arena at Muang Thing Thani.

Has anyone been there (not at Impact, at the ghost buildings) and what is the best way to get there?

Regards,

Mendana

A 200 baht taxi from downtown is advisable for first trip. Tell driver "IMPACT" to prove you know where you're going.
When you want to return, perhaps taxi is best bet.
Muang Tong is strictly a vehicle access unless you like hiking. When there check out bus numbes and compare with bus map. It's possible to ruturn by bus to IT SQUARE" where a walk across road will put you in Laksi SRT depot. A train will return you Bang Sue or end of the line. Both locations are end of line for Subway system.
These instructions avoid a zillion U-turns and impossible "on foot" road crossings.
Next time, you might want to SRT (cho-cho train) to Laksi and taxi from there.

Hi Fred,

I've been to Impact a few times for the shows etc so it's not a problem to get there. My question is about how to get to the ghost buildings, not to the Impact Arena.

Cheers

Look West from Impact. Majority of the high rise are vacant.

I know this posting is rather old.
I came by these buildings by accident lastnight while trying to find my way out of that labyrinthine Muang Thong after taking my wife to the super crowded gift fair.
Man, what a place! I don't remember those buildings being like that some 10 years ago. They're totally deserted now with broken fences around them.
Definitely not a friendly looking place by any means. (Actually the whole Muang Thong area aside from Impact has turned into a ghost town.) It made me wonder . . .

mendana, did you manage to find them and come back safely with some interesting pictures to share?
