It's huge! This was taken the day of the CENSORED WORD, which I believe was also the day it opened. All along the site people parked to get out and take a look. The view from the top is great!

Wow Cee, that is a great shot of Bangkok from there. I think it would probably also look nice as a night shot too. I think it is called the Rama 8 Bridge if I am not mistaken. Where were you standing when you took that shot?

I was standing about 2/3 of the way across, almost in Phra Pha Daeng. I don't think this is the Rama 8 bridge... I think that's the one that has the lopsided cables up by Banglampoo.. But I'm not sure. I'll ask my friend to be sure.

Thanks for the additional info Cee. You might be right. There were too bridges that opened in that area recently. So where did you go to get onto this bridge?

ok - i just asked my faen the name. it's called saphan wong waen utsahagam, or "industrial ring bridge'. you can get on it from rama 3. it's near to rama 9 bridge. if you're traveling down the river, towards the sea, you hit saphan taksin, then saphan grungthep, then saphan pharam 9, then saphan wong waen utsahagam. hope that makes sense.
