There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

Blank sky days are discussed here in Forum. It's worth the read to pick up some "ah-ha's", and possibly some solutions. My solution is to aim below skyline horizon and power lines and hope a piece of sky doesn't blast through foliage or around a corner.
This didn't work during a trip to shoot wind surfers. Sand sea and sky were a consistent blob that consumed the surfers and diluted the color of their sails. Shadows were non existent and couldn't be created because there was no light direction. My only filter was a CirPL that didn't improve contrast. I retreated into jungle and filled memory with wildflowers and several photos in direction of the Gulf with large blanks blasting through trees.
A year later when deleting storage this one photo of a blank framing an object looked worth saving. Printed and framed it got a couple of "Ooo's and Aaa's" from viewers. Made the wind surfer trip worthwhile. Some photos deserve a second look.
Another thing; the shadowless "blank sky" condition creates excellent illumination of tiny blooms concealed in foliage. I carry laundry clips to pin back leaves and branches.
