There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

I'm interested in buying a graphisc tablet and for more drawing/accurate/responsive image manipulation and reducing repetitive strain injury. I understand Wacom is way to go. Anyone use one? Where can I purchase one? How much?
Thanks in advance

There are a few shops at Pantip selling Wacom tablets. One shop is an Apple gear place near the back-right by the used item stores on the 2nd or 3rd floor. I owned one before and also a cheaper clone type one. The real Wacom was much better but cost much more. I seem to recall the smaller ones being in the 2500 baht range but my memory could be foggy. The cheap clone I got was about 600 baht. It actually worked quite well but didn't live for long.

Thanks
One of the reasons I want one is that I think I'm starting to get RSI from constant mouse clicking.
I knew there was another forum on this - thanks for the link Bjorn

Trackballs are supposed to be good too, though personally I can't stand them. I think they take some getting used to.

I am working as an art director/graphic designer for many years now, and about 5 yrs. ago I had serious RSI (I couldn't even lift a cup of coffee anymore) after not beeing able to work for almost a year, when I got back to work I got a good chair, put my screen at the right hight (top of screen at same level as top of head, and straight in front of you) and got a wacom. Although i think the chair is the most important thing, the wacom does help, because you keep your arm in a more natural position.

The Wacom Graphire is around 5,000 baht and I find it great for Photoshop work; could never go back to a mouse! The Intuos range is more expensive but is more sensitive (both pad and pen). Could only find the Graphire locally (Pattaya) but expect both are widely available in BKK.
