There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

The last one's best, IMO, with a sense of joyful freedom to it.

Thanks Marc, we can't wait to go. However, it seems like some higher power doesn't want us to go. We are supposed to spend the first week in Bangkok - starting thursdag, but we are not sure if we want to be in Bangkok with the demonstrations and all. Second, we live in northern Europe and as you may have heard, a volcanic eruption on Iceland has send huge clouds of ashes into the air and effectively closed all of northern European airspace. No flights whatsoever in all of northern Europe. I just hope it clears for thursday so we can go....

I got my fingers crossed for you on getting your flights. As for the demonstrations, you may have to avoid certain areas and pay attention to the news to find out what is happening where, but ThaiVisa.com forum usually has a good update running everyday on latest developments. As long as you are not yearning for a big shopping mall experience (many are closed right now in the Siam area), you can do all the other fun things and most of what is on my list:

The heat is a bit overwhelming outside at the moment, but I will be at Chatuchak market tomorrow buying a few bits anyway with the rest of the mad dogs :)

Sorry Peter, I got my links crossed. This is the link I meant to post, but I just remembered that you saw it already:

Thanks for your good wishes, I really hope that we are able to get there.

I know that the malls are closed, which is a pity - I was hoping to shop for a Tokina 11-16mm f.28 DX Pro while I was there... WIll definately go to the weekend Market next weekend - only problem will be the temperature, since I'm going with my wife (she should be ok) and my kids aged 4 and 1... Just bring lots of water, hats and sunblock  Grin

Have a great excusion tomorrow.

Best regards

Peter
