Charging a Visible Dust Brush
«
on:
October 17, 2006, 03:09:41 PM »
Have recently acquired a Visible Dust sensor cleaning brush and went into Fotofile for a can of compressed air to clean/charge it.
Having got the can home I discover that the contents are "highly flammable" and comprise C3H8 +CHCIF2, whatever they are. The guy at Fotofile said there would be no residue provided I kept the can upright; but I am not sure whether this will be OK for brush charging. The product is called Separtor Dust Spray, whatever that means.
Can anyone advise whether this is a suitable product?
Thanks
Hugh

Hi, Hugh. I just purchased the Artic Butterfly 724 brush, without any cleaning fluids. The company that produces these products is located in Canada. They were very helpful when I phoned them for info when deciding which product to buy that I could travel with (i.e., take on a plane). Why don't you check out their website and e-mail them with your question if you don't find the info you need?

I have one too and my understanding is that the spinning of the brush using the motor 3 times in a row for 5 seconds at a time is the best way to charge the bristles. Ellen is right though in that you can write to them with questions. Try:

Thanks for the replies. I have a spinning device on order but can't use the brush until it arrives; unless I can find a supply of compressed air which is the other option for removing dust and charging their brushes. I was hoping that the can from Fotofile would do the trick; but I will indeed check with their support desk.
Thanks again
Hugh

I used "Kloud Dust Remover" which works without any problems.*
Got it at Pantip Plaza for 200 baht.
The can is gray and green with a drawing of a white cloud on the front.
I've seen many shops having it, so it shouldn't be hard to find.
Should be able to find it around the electronic market near Ban Mo as well.
*) The can runs cold if you use it alot in short time. With the heavy condensation in Thailand, be careful where you put it after use.
