There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

Nice, high-key shots. In the first one though, I find the hair over the parts of the face a tad distractive.

Dave, I was wondering if you can post any other pictures from the workshop to get a better idea of the sort of style they are teaching as other people might be interested to see as well.
I assume there is more being taught than head-shots of men being made-up to look like women?
Thanks.

Thanks for posting that composite David. It is certainly interesting. It also sounds really positive in general in terms of the development of English language photographic instruction in Bangkok. If you know other students who have created other intersting works as you noted, then I would encourage them to post some of their work in the Forum for others to see.
I would also encourage the organizers of the workshops to post something here as well since there are many people as you have seen over recent months who are asking about classes all the time. I also receive a fair number of personal e-mails asking about me giving classes so if there was something being offered elsewhere I could at least direct them to it.
As for not feeling creative in a large group, I can understand that feeling. It is easy to get overwhelmed by everyone else's ideas and what they are doing when you are trying to focus on your own ideas. Maybe you should give some creative thought to what you want to do before you go to the class and this way when you get there you don't need to be as creative, but focus more on the execution of what you want to do and not worry so much about what others are doing. Afterall, you probably don't want your pictures coming out like everyone else's anyway if you are to put some of your own creative ideas to work. Hope this helps and best wishes for continued success with it.

Thanks David. I don't mean to burden you with that responsibility by the way, but if it is convenient enough for you to at least mention to the organizers that there may be people on the Forum interested in classes in general, and if they want to post their announcements and information here, that may be at least helpful to others in the Forum.
Also, one more thought on the course. Even if you don't come away with any pictures that you feel really show the level of creativity you wanted to put into it, you are of course at least learning new things by being there, gaining new perspectives, and putting your eyes in places they may not have been before and that is what counts. And those new skills and knowledge can always be applied later to another situation even if not used right now.
I noticed a long time ago that on every job where I encounter a new problem it also gives me the ability to learn something new as I work my way through the problem. As time goes on there are less surprises of course, which is good, but also not as much learning is going on. So there are pluses and minuses to everything in that respect I guess.
