There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

I like it a lot, it's soft and mysterious, very 50's in a way.

Hi David, except for the mark just below the eye which I believe would have been erased with a PS, this is a perfect shot. Not unless you really feel there is a need for it to be there. Thanks for sharing.

Nice mysterious pictures David. Good job. I also prefer the first one.

Nice, and I also prefer the 1st image as it leaves the viewer guessing a bit and using the imagination.

It's wonderful, David, i love how the black shadows trace around and hide behind the folds of her shawl. Now, I have to say that her face, while being exposed quite well, inherits a bit of dull light and purple reflection. My feeling is that you indeed paid attention to how the lighting fell on her, but may not have set it up as a bona fide studio shot with the whole arrangement gamut that comes with such shots. IMO,  the second one is losing the softness and chiarroscuro quality you achieved in the first one.

Thanks for the comment. Very insightful and very useful. The lighting set up was VERY simple as I only had one very basic studio light, I also I used a reflector as well.
All has changed in my photographic life as of saturday when I purchased a pair of studio lights, soft box, barn doors etc and I must say it's all VERY exciting!
thanks agin for your input.
