There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

d200 info

Hi,
Two questions really. First, can anyone recommend a good post production package to use with a nikon d200? i heard that nikon capture 4 didn't really unlock the potential of the d2oo. Second, has anyone used 'apeture' on the mac, if you did, was it any good?
I just bought a d200 and any comments or tips you want to share would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks,
Danny

Welcome to the forum Danny. I am not a Nikon person so I can't offer much there. I would only suggest though that Camera RAW in PhotoShop is probably one of the best RAW converters you can find and this way you can use one program for both RAW file conversion and post processing. Capture One by Phase One is supposed to be better than Camera RAW, although I am not sure if it handles D200 files. But Capture One can only develop RAW files so you will still need to use PhotoShop for post processing, which means you are again back to using 2 programs. I have used Capture One, but still prefer to stick with Camera RAW.
As for Aperture, apparently it is quite slow and most Mac users are awaiting the next release where they are supposed to be addressing a number of the problems. Personally I am looking forward to seeing what Lightroom from Adobe is like when it comes out for PC at the end of the year.
