There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

Was in Chantanaburi today and stopped at a cafe for a drink. In an open doorway on the other side of the road was an old man hammering nails into some contraption he was building. Not wanting to disturb him, I put on a 300mm lens and took a couple of quick shots. Turns out he is the father of the shop owner and is 91 years young!
I had to shoot at 1/60th so the shots are not as sharp as I would like; but I think he has a wonderful face.

That guy looks like he keeps himself busy at 91. Quite amazing. I don't know what he's working on - looks a little suspect quality wise. I find the shots a little bright and think maybe playing with the light balance a little may add some "texture" to his skin and face a bit. Just an idea.

I like the first shot as he looks younger than his real age of 91. The expression on his face is so vivid and well presented in the photo. Very well taken.

Thanks for the feedback; indeed they do look a little on the bright side. More work required!
I was introduced to him and he jumped up and shook hands, and then hurried off to get some more nails! I should have asked him what his secret was!
Cheers

I like both shots but in a way I prefer the 2nd one as it shows him hammering away. He does have a young face for 91 years of age.
