There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

Wow !!, def. the best one, I love the diagonals in it, they enhance the action in the picture.

Marc, I like this one in terms of composition and DOF, you can really see the sleek movement of the fisherman's body without any OOF effect. Great shot and timing. Thanks for sharing. Hope to see more postings.

Thank you Bjorn and Jingle. To me it seemed a bit static in comparison to the other one I posted with all the blurring, but your good comments are appreciated.

Bjorn is right... WOW is the word.  The first one I thought was very good, but now I like this one much better.  The diagonals.... it's as if that there is no better way to compose it.

Marc--Keep them coming, another real nice shot. Tilted horizons as you know are often the bane of landscape photographers (that is why a little bubble level that fits in my hot shoe is part of my gear), but the tilt in this shot works just great.

Thanks David. The tilt of the horizon is actually very intentional. I agree horizons must be straight for landscape photos where there is a clear division between any combination of land, water and sky, but this shot is not meant to be a landscape in any form persay so the exaggerated tilt is meant to give the shot a bit more dimension against an otherwise flat background. Thanks again.

A classic. such image reminds me of when I was a kid and picture books had these magic names like Malaysia, Siam, and under were photos, some with net throwers. Little did I know i would enter the pictures and, as we say in San Francisco, leave my heart in them. Blissfully. Life is good! Thanks mark, for prompting this thought.

Thanks for such heartwarming words about this photo and images from SE Asia in general. I think in some ways we all share those romantic feelings about yesteryear in Asia.

In fact, I often have dreamy thoughts about what Bangkok must have been like back in the day when it was just a series of interlinking canalsand fresh markets. There are still small glimpses of it, but you have to look hard and it is quickly dissapearing as we all know.
