There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

This is a big event each year that is held at Rama 8 bridge, Bangkok (in December).
Last year I endured the heat and noise (announcers cheering the paddlers on!) and shot lots. I thought this was one of the better ones.

Nice one Chris. Great action and movement and your idea to crop it as a panorama is a great idea as well.

Chris
Really nice shot and the panorama idea is genius!
I took some shots at some races on a reservoir near Pattaya last year and found the boats so tough to fit into the frame! Changing the shape of the frame is a big improvement! I have now re-cropped one of mine and I like it much more now.

Thanks Marc and hughden. It was a real challenge to keep some detail in the shadows. What I really like about it is the guy with the sunglasses. He seems to be a bit out of it, and out of sync, like maybe he had a few drinks before climbing aboard.
Also thanks Marc for your note about photoSig. I signed up and put this one up as my first post. Also saw some your photos there too. Excellent.
Chris :)

Chris and hughden--Very enjoyable shots. Gives a good feel of being there, except for the noise and drunken revelers. Chris, I agree the guy with sunglasses looks like he is in a world of his own. At first it made think of your photo of the wet jogger with goggles on.
