There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

There is a lake near Jomtien with a cable running round it at various speeds; pulling people fitter than I on a variety of wakeboards. Turn up with a camera and they all start using the jump!

I used AI Servo to track them, but the combination of the spray and their partial dissapearance behind the jump board meant I had a fairly high failure rate.

Great action shots you got here, hope to see more postings from you. Thanks for sharing.

Your Petronas Twin Towers shot is also a nice one even though you posted it in B/W using PS, I think the Chinese lanterns were rather too small to make an impact on the overall composition but it is worth the effort. I still have to learn how to do this on PS. Perhaps you might like to post the same again with the PTT in original colour.

I like the second one although you could consider cropping the ramp.
You can find a photoshop action on the internet called "digital velvia" that will enhance the colors a lot, especially on this kind of shot with lots of blue and green.

Thanks for your comments; indeed there is probably too much scruffy ramp in the picture! I will try the Velvia action. The riders were in shadow, but there was a bright sky background, so the photos could certainly do with some more "pop."

I used to try shooting here with my 300D and there was a lot more miss that hit! Now I have the 30D and at 5fps there is more of a chance of getting a good shot. The lens was a 70-200 at 70mm.
