There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

Following up on Marc's post about motion I thought to post this one.

It's quite a terrible shot and doesn't have that sharp anchor I mentioned in Marcs post but despite it's technical failure it has a neat thing that I like a lot and I only wish I had been able to get the goggles nice and sharp. I was in Lumphini Park some time ago and it started raining heavily. I was waiting under a seller's umbrella for it to pass when some girls ran by jogging in the rain. I pulled my camera up and snapped this and really liked that one runner was wearing goggles. If the face and goggles had been sharp and in focus (and a little wider focal length!) I would have been thrilled but alas I didn't track and hold steady enough to get that. Maybe it doesn't work for everyone but I like it nonetheless - it still captures a sense of motion, and wet, wet, wet.

Chris :)

Chris--Despite some of the problems you mentioned it still has something to it I like--those goggles are very funny. There could be a next time as this is not the desert and it does rain here as everyone knows.

I liked this shot with the colours and the impressionist blur but the goggles definitely make it a lot better.

Sometimes too I find my own shots that are not technically the greatest have more "feel" to them, and end up being personal favourites.  Having said that maybe other people don't appreciate them as you do because of your personal attachment to that particular moment.

Perhaps technically perfect photos are maybe more likely to appeal to the unattached viewer?

Anyway, thanks for posting your work.

Simon.
