Thanks Chris, I will surely put this trip in my furure itinerary. I am sure there will be a lot of interesting places to see there and of course to shoot photos.

Yes Jingle, it was an amazing natural sky that night. I will post a wider angle shot of that sky soon. And Chris is right, it is a beautiful spot, relatively inexpensive to visit compared to Samui or Phuket and much less developed or crowded. Also, it is a great base as Chris said for arranging inexpensive boat charters out to a number of small little islands off the coast there. One of the furthest away, but the most amazing is Koh Hawng (Room Island) known for its inner room which is a sandy enclave which floods in the afternoon such that boats can motor in there through a narrow opening in the islands steep rock face walls.

Thanks Marc, I am really convinced that I should make a trip to Krabi and see those places you have mentioned. I know Samui has been too commercialized like Phuket, it goes to Pattaya as well. I have not been to Krabi at all so it is now something I need to consider seriously to visit. Look forward to see more postings from you from Krabi.

This was my second trip to Krabi. My first one earlier this year it was raining and I did not get a chance to see much. After this trip though I am sold on the place and probably will not return to places like Samui or Phuket unless it is for an assignment. But for people looking for night life and entertainment will find Krabi disappointing in that regard. For me I am looking for the opposite when I head to a beach area so it is just my speed. Attaching another shot of that sunset. This one a wider angle which shows you more of the reflections in the clouds. On this one you can also really see the dark looking storm clouds brewing on the left.

Marc--Was about to say I loved the vertical orientation of the shot but then saw your 2nd photo with the horizontal take on it, and that is not too shabby either.
Both really nice, and those clouds are awesome. Also handheld. I always tell people the best landscape photos are taken with a tripod, though these shots prove one can do well without one. Though if there was less light, slower shutter speed, ...

Thank you David for your kind thoughts. What is interesting I found about these sunset silhouette shots is that by the time you would have to go to a tripod, the exposures are too long, the ambient light has faded so much, the nice, well saturated colors in the sky are fading, and you end up with a lot of dark areas and noise than anything. So I use that as a gauge. Meaning if there is enough light to handheld then I keep shooting and if there isn't I sit and enjoy the rest of the sunset.

Hi Marc, love the second shot! Especially the way the water on the shore blends so smoothly in to the beach and the way it glows with the refracted light.
