Been practising the use of PS in my photos and did apply it with sharpening tool of my night photos of Kuala Lumpur. The first one is the Sultan Abdul Samad Building and the second one is the Petronas Twin Towers. Comments and criticism are welcome.

Interesting shot of Petronas Towers. What focal length was that using?
On a side note it looks like you have some of the dreaded sensor dust visible in lighted centre area. I know - get one problem licked and another one steps in to keep you busy. You may want to read up in the manual and on www.cleaningdigitalcameras.com for info.
I just came back from Malaysia myself but not KL - just Penang - now have to see if any shots are worth keeping.

Hi Chris, These were taken with a wide angle lens, bulb setting. I took a few shotw with different timings and these are the better ones on this angle. Funny, when you sharpened your photos on PS you will be shocked to see the dust accummulating in the camera. Maybe I need to retouch it a little bit though.
Penang is nice and there are many places to shoot there specially in Georgetown. Did you manage to go there or just at the border or Butterworth? Penang Hill is also a lovely place to shoot the island and the Penang Bridge specially in the evening. The funicular service is working again after it broke down before. I like the food there too.

I go to Penang every six months (more or less) for my visa. The way the things work is that I have to spend a few days in Georgetown and often find myself wandering around hoping to find worthwhile shots. I'm just about to run through my recent batch now.

I haven't been to the hill and don't know what the "funicular" service is... like a cable car or something? Sounds like I should make the effort to get over there as I'd like a good clear shot of the bridge if that's possible.

I love the Indian food in Georgetown - it's the main reason I choose that visa trip rather than some others. This time it ended up being the Malaysia independence day holiday and the Thai embassy was closed. That put a real kink into my plans and I ended up just coming back with a normal transit visa this time.

Chris, the Funicular is a cable car which can carry more people to the top not like the one they used in Genting or Singapore. It is full on weekends because of the locals. I don't know what sort of subject interest you when shooting but I have been to Penang many times and still never get bored of finding new places to shoot specially the Chinatown and Little India, the walking street from the City Hall to the many Chinese Temples, Indian Mosque and even a Catholic Cathedral. You can even go and eat at the restaurant at KOMTAR on the 64th Fl. if I am not mistaken to see the city from the top while dining. I normally stay at the City Bayview Hotel as the GM is a good friend of mine. I agree with you about the food in Penang, it is the best specially the hawker stalls and you can have it almost 24 hours. My photography style is more on travel related subjects so it could possibly be different from yours. From Penang I cross to Langkawi by ferry sometimes.

Another photoshopped twin towers. Taken during Chinese New Year. Took me hours to isolate the lanterns and then desaturate the rest, not sure it was worth the effort!

wow nice shoot of petronas...never been there tough..maybe its time to visit KL :)

buy a wacom tablet, takes some getting used to, but it's great for masking once you are used to it

I've never seen Petronas Twin Towers but its beautiful : nice shot and thank you for your pictures.
