There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

Greetings to all from Chiang Mai-
My local source for camera repairs no longer has access to a Leica technician, so I'm wondering if anyone out there could give me a lead on someone in Thailand who could fix one of my lenses. It's for an old M3.

You may want to pop by and see Khun Waranun at Photo Hobby in the Silom Complex plaza. I think his shop is on the 3rd floor. I am pretty certain he can either assist or point you in the right direction for Leica repairs.

you could also try AV Camera in Bangkok, next to the Robinson's at the Sala Daeng stop on the Silom line. Just a hunch that someone there will know, because they have on display an incredible personal collection of rangefinders, from Canon, Leica, Nikon and Contax.

Alternatively (and not to steal thunder on providing another new forum) there are four rangefinder users from Thailand on the Rangefinder Forum, www.rangefinderforum.com, two in BKK, one near Trat and me in Chiang Mai. Someone there might know, too.

Many thanks for those suggestions- I'll check both out when next in BKK. I guess nobody has any recommendations for Chiang Mai...? Too bad, because there used to be someone here who worked on Leicas, but that was over 13 years ago and the shop is now long gone.

I'm enjoying this forum immensely and commend (and thank) Mark on getting it going- it's a lot of work.

Cheers,

I think Photo Hobby might be closed down now, so I just wanted to update this post with up to date information. I think for repairs on Leica, probably the best place to contact now is the following shop as I think they are the Leica Center shop in Bangkok and they are also part of the Foto File group of shops from MBK:

Camera & Lens Co. Ltd
Central Rama 3 Shopping Mall
3rd Floor, Room 318/1
79/148 Rama III Road
Yanawa Bangkok
