There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

Just thought I'd upload another image of my last trip to Ayuddhaya... once again I have played with colours etc but i was playing with making this more of an arty shot.

I was just reading this great idea from photographer Alain Briot. When he sells a print, he is also sending out a screen version of the master file for people to see his original image and all the photoshop layers that go into making the finished image... a great way to learn. From what I can see, he really spends some time in photoshop... here's an example of his before/after:

I like your shoots and work. See now where you get your inspiration of the lighting effect
thanks your detailed comments before - can't quiet get to where you are but still trying.

Hi Canon,
I could send you a psd file so you can pull apart the layers if you like? I would drop the image down to a small jpeg so you don't have to receive a 11meg file :-).

Interstingly the cave lighting I like didn't come from the Alain Broit image... it was something I saw from an Indonesian photographer... he gets a lot of dust etc in his images and I liked the effect of the light on the dust. that's why I have to create a dusty layer in photoshop and put my light source above it.

The image in the temple above was simply one curves adjustment layer in which I boosted contrast with an S curve, moved the blue curve to yellow and the red to more red.
I also did an omni lighting effect to make the glow around the temple just for fun.
