Yes I won't hold my breath for any amazing price differences, but I'll certainly let you know what I find, and I'll try to remember to check the 24-105L for you. 

I'd also like a 24-105L or indeed the 24-70L but they are too pricey for me at the moment - I'm glad I haven't tested one yet!  At the risk of sounding like a bit of a peasant in amongst all this 'L' talk, I'll say that I'm currently satisfied with the 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 USM which I got to replace kit on my 350D, it's a big improvement from the kit lens for not much money.

For decent prices, goto Sungei Wang Plaza right in Kuala Lumpur's shopping district. Look for a shop named Boeing Photo. Prices are good, closest to US selling prices and cheaper than Bangkok sometimes.
