Canon--Nice shot but to my eye it looked a bit too bright and I thought the foreground was bright as well, and took me away from the insect. Out of curiosity I very quickly opened up the shot with Photoshop, and went to layer/new fill layer and made the color grey and in the mode setting opted for color dodge. I really was not sure what I was doing

as I am not a Photoshop expert. I do not necessarily like the purplish foreground that came to be, but I do like the darker insect and the really saturated colors it has--maybe that is why I always liked Fuji Velvia film as the colors were quite saturated. If I knew what I was doing I would have made the foreground a neutral color, just not so bright. What do you think of the insect now, or should I have just left it alone? In hindsight, maybe the colors are too dark in what I did and yours are the truer colors. I hope you do not mind me playing with your photo, but if you ever think anything could be different with one of mine please let me know!
