There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

Hi Anna,

Thanks for your reply. I called her last several days, but I couldn't reach her. I'll try to send fax to her today. If there is no reply, then it would be better to go there  Cheesy

You are going through what I went through last year(can't get hold of anyone.)  Good thing the classes were worth it.

Hi Anna and all,

Got the schedule already. The new class is scheduled on Oct 8 - Dec 19 2006. They offer 3 photography classes:
- Basic Photography - every Tue 17:30 - 20:30
- Advanced Photography - every Mon 17:30 - 20:30
- Fashion Photography - every Tue 17:30 - 20:30

The cost for each course is THB 4,550. They will conduct a class if the number of participants are 6 or more.
The registration already open now till Oct 21, 2006.

By the way Anna,
Could you please inform us what is the course content for basic photography? I got this course before (long, long time back) and I don't know whether I should re-take this course or I can just proceed to the next class.

Sorry to bother you much about this, since I couldn't contact Khun Ankana, so I just try to find somebody who already got the class in AF.

Thank you..

Agus

Just went through my photo notes.  Unfortunately, I tossed the course outline of Basic Photography.  I only saved the course outline for Advanced Photography.  I'll see what I can recall by memory.  We covered (not in this order), aperture, speed, composition, famous photographers like Eugene Smith, Henri Cartier Bresson, functions of your camera (impt. that you read your camera manual to get the most out of the lesson), some good photo trips and you review together photos you took.  I knew it covered more.

I come all the way from Nonthaburi area for the classes but it was worth it.  The Advanced Photography was very good as well.  Fashion Photography was not offered then.

I believe they have a copy of course outlines at the Arts Dept.  It is a detailed outline and would help you decide a lot.  If you had taken it a long time ago, it may be worth taking it again as a refresher course.

Our teacher then was Cedric Arnold.  I thought he will be taking time off for a while.  Did you check if the classes offered in October would be in English?

BTW, Agus, you are not a bother at all.  I'll answer your questions.

Agus, maybe I should mention what Advanced Photography covers.  This may help you decide whether to take this instead of the Basic.
It covers:
SLRs, lenses, aperture, shutter speed, lighting control, flash photography, black and white photography (very briefly), portraiture, photojournalism, and again, good photo trips.

Hope this helps.

Finally, I registered to the Basic Photography Class at Alliance Francaise today. But still no confirmation whether this class will be conducted or not, since only four applicants (including me) in this class. Hope they will not cancel this class, or I should wait for next session (Jan'07)...
