Some months back my better half and oldest daughter asked for my Xmas list.

Halfheartedly I duly attended to supplying my ideal Xmas "stocking fillers" (as opposed to the usual socks and slippers stuff).

They laughed and I returned to reality.

Boy, was I surprised.

There they were on Xmas morning:- Panasonic GX-1, LVF2 finder and 7-14 zoom. AND just to top it all a mint Hexar RF, 50mm and 90mm Hexanons!

You see, Santa does listen!

I nice set of Konica, Ray. Are you still in the film 'business' and how do process the stuff here in Thailand?
It will be interesting to hear about your experiences with M4/3 as my feelings are pretty mixed. Head Scratch
Happy new year  2 Thumbs

Hans

Firstly, I've been shooting with M4/3rds for some two years now and find the mirrorless system absolutely perfect. No mirror slap so slower hand held speeds, portability, weight and discreetness is a boon in many situations. I find myself picking up the Panasonic as my first choice for non sport/action shooting. IQ from the Panny GF1and now the new GX1 is awesome. Being able to use my Zeiss legacy glass was the original attraction and continues to surprise me at the rendition these "old" lenses achieve. In a small shoulder bag I pack a 7-14, 20, 40, 50, 75 and 90mm and can carry it all day.

Film though is my first love. From 35mm through to 120. I process my own B+W and use IQ lab in Bangkok for E6 and C-41. They will do B+W but I prefer my own brews. Cheap to process at Thb100 per roll and a 3 day turn round.

Buy my film off eBay which, although not cheap, at least is a constant source.

I been shooting with the Hexar and what a delight it is to use a true rangefinder again. No mirror blackout and viewing clarity is so much pleasure.

I'm happy!

Thanks for the info, Ray.
Beside my DSLR I'm shooting the Olympus EP-1 but it never satisfy  me really in low light. Wonder if the Pana's are superior to the Oly's in this regards.
Don't need any fast AF as I mostly use my old Canon lenses. Thumbs Up Wink
Think about buying Fuji X100 because of it's ability in low light though its coming with a fixed lens at 35mm.
Sometimes tired of lugging the 5DMII for low light around.
Cheers
