Yes, I was also a bit surprised they would put such high resolution into an even smaller prosumer body. A bit more about the subject here:

I would take better dynamic range over MP count any day of the week. 36MP seems a bit strange.

the term prosumer always amuses me, not too long ago these specs would be amazing for a pro body:
Dpreview on the Nikon D1 "The D1 is everything the professional photographer could need and a whole lot more, build quality is second to none, image quality is excellent with a few funnies which, as long as you know, you can work around."

Prosumer usually just refers to the build of the body itself and not the technical specs and image producing capabilities of the camera. It is just a way of classifying the quality of the physical build of the camera.
I just bought a 5D Mark II, which has more resolution, produces images with lower noise, and has a better display screen on it than my 1DS Mark II. But I still consider my older 1DS to be a pro body and the newer 5D Mark II with higher quality image producing specs to be a prosumer body. Again, build related only.
It still would seem strange that if Nikon was going to release a new flagship camera with such high specs and resolution though that they would do that within a body that has such a light looking build. It would make more sense for them to introduce a new 36MP camera as a top of the range body first and then offer a less expensive lighter build body later with slightly lesser resolution capabilities as well.
If they put this new camera out with 36MP in a prosumer body then it will be a difficult sell on any D1 series cameras they release later if later they put out something for twice the price and yet the same pixel count as the lower priced model. It all comes down to marketing strategy and trying not to cannibalize your own products as an electronic manufacturer. Apple is also faced with this issue all the time by integrating many of their products into one.
So it will be interesting to see how this one plays out with Nikon for sure. I also wonder how quickly Nikon will be able to get a new body to market knowing they lost one of their factories in Ayutthaya to the floods as I believe this has at least hindered their DSLR production for the short term.
