There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

If you like old photos of Bangkok you might be interested in the current gallery at the Bangkok Culture Center. (the BCC is directly across from MBK)
The photographs are mostly from around 1920's to the 1960's, but there were a few from the late 1800's.

I really love looking at old photographs and wanted to pass this on. It was really funny to see the streets of Bangkok with no traffic.  Rolling Laugh

Translated from the BCC page

"Old story".

Date: 12 July -12 August 2554.
Location: curved walls, floors 3,4 and 5.
Publisher: Bureau of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Bangkok

Exhibition of old stories. Incident at Bangkok's broadcast on over 100 years, 150 photo images to see the beauty in the past. And changes of Bangkok. Presented in terms of aesthetics. Combined with cultural and historical dimensions shown in the picture.

Haha, David, seems like you typed a word that was automatically censored by the forum. If you want to edit your post then that error message that was placed within your post will go away. Sorry if things seem a bit strict on certain fronts Japan

Your welcome Hans, but Gregg posted this. I haven't seen the exhibition yet myself, but it does sound very nice.

Saw the exhibition today and there were some good images. My problem was they were just cheap poster type blow-ups, pixellated, no detail, ... Would have been so much nicer to have seen nicely printed photographs, perhaps not as big but the quality would more than make up for that. In some of the small galleries off of the exhibition one could see photographs on display, and these to me were more satisfying.
