Incredible, some great shots. Had seen some real good ones as well from the volcano that erupted in Iceland last year. Extreme weather can make for extremely cool shots.

In a way I feel a bit sad knowing that I am finding beauty in pictures of destruction when I see these images. But I guess we should not fault mother nature and we should praise her on her beauty. On the other hand, there was nothing beautiful I must say about the images of destruction we saw come out form Japan after the earthquake.

More of a technical/photo journalism question, but does anyone know how long the event duration was? What I'm getting at is just how long does it take to put professional photographers in the air to get these amazing shots. I know they are tagged with Reuters and Getty who have tons of staff on call, but it still seems like something like this would be hard to document unless they knew in advance or could mobilize photographers really fast.
