I noticed that the 5th floor in MBK, which used to be just only furniture stores on that floor, is now about half filled with newly opened camera equipment shops. There is also a nice Canon showroom there with lots of big lenses on display, as well as a branch of the official Canon service center in Thailand. It started about a year or so ago with the Canon showroom (which I believe is a branch of Fotofile on the 1st floor) and the area around the Canon showroom has now grown into a little camera shop section. If you haven't been there is a while it might be worth a poke around. Thumbs Up

Yeah, I was surprised to find a nice selection of Crumpler camera bags (5 million and 6 million dollar style) at one of the newly opened shops. When I first came here I went to every camera store I could think of and never found a Crumpler bag. His store also has a nice selection of Yongnuo flash triggers.

Gregg - Originally Jebsen & Jessen, the big Danish conglomerate, were the importers for Crumpler in Thailand. That was about 10 years ago. I think they have now gotten out of the camera product distribution business, but I just want to say that Crumpler has been here for a long time. I found when looking for something it is always good to contact the manufacturer directly and ask them who is their distributor in Thailand. Often doing it that way you can get to the source and cut out the markups of buying stuff from the smaller retailers.

Thanks Hans. I just made a very quick pass through and didn't really look inside any of the new shops. So feel free to post more info about any of the news shops if you like. I did notice the one Gregg mentioned selling a lot of camera bags though.

New info MBK, 5th flloor:  MASS, Camera & Accessories. They store the COTTON CARRIER Holsters. Very interesting way to carry the cams in different holsters around your body.
They say the BLACK RAPID strap system is arriving in 1 week.
Furthermore the LUMIQUEST stuff, POD bean bags and other intersting stuff.

Thanks for the update Hans. I always wanted to see one of the Back Rapid straps in person and try it out.

Although I kind of preferred the German Sun Sniper
