There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

Sorry I will be gone during the time of the anniversary party, but I will be there in spirit.  Salut

That's a shame David. It's always fun having you along on our events. Well, there is always the next one in 5 years :)

Yes, I picked the wrong time to have to leave.  :'(  Look forward to see others at the next formal get together, or always up for an informal get together as well.

I am now trying to arrange things for the 16th at 4PM. I found a cute little restaurant in Soi Rangnam close to Victory Monument called B Resto. It is about a 3 minute walk from the sky train station. You can see a bit of info here:

http://www.bestrestaurantsbangkok.com/B_RESTO.html

I am now trying to find out if they will be open on the 16th as many places are closed for that long Songkran weekend. But I will let you know as soon as I get confirmation on them being open or closed.

It is reasonably priced and serves both Western (some Italian) and Thai food. The restaurant is well recommended by a Thai friend who works in the area.

I imagine the average cost per person would be around 300 Baht (not including alcohol) for a couple of dishes.

My next question is would everyone like me to try and arrange some sort of set menu and fixed cost per person with the restaurant by capping the cost at 300 Baht per person or would everyone prefer to just pay for their own food separately?

I am thinking though if there is 10-15 people in our group then I am not sure if the restaurant will mind doing 10-15 separate checks, but I can ask them.

Please post your comments about food, cost, venue, etc. Thanks.  Two Thumbs Up

The place looks really nice Marc.  Thumbs Up Wink

I've never done it, but I would think a set menu might be a pain. Others might not like the selected items as well.

I would vote for everyone ordering what they want and paying for it separately. just my 2 cents  Laugh

That sounds good Gregg. Thanks for the feedback. Please lets hear some feedback from others as well.

Also, they have a separate function room which seats about 15-16 people. I guess if we get enough people coming I can see if we can arrange for the private room, but if it is less than 10 of us then I probably wont trouble them.

For price reasons it is absolutely not necessary to arrange something cheaper. Only if they offer some interesting buffet/menu we should take it. Make sure they serve COLD beer.
Thanks for your effort.

I am very sorry everyone, but I have decided to postpone the gathering until March. It just seems a lot of people are away in April and it should be easier to organize things and move about once Songkran has passed. Please stay tuned everyone as I will be making a formal announcement next month once I have everything sorted out. Will look forward to seeing you all again soon and have a nice Songkran holiday.

Hans, as I already explained, Songkran is not a good time, many people go away, restaurants are closed, and for some people to get around during that time it can be difficult. Also, in May we should have a bigger group once people are back, which will be more fun.
