There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

Thanks for the link, Marc. No wonder that the majority pics of this the press award show cruelty and abominations.

Your welcome Hans. Unfortunately I believe this issue has a lot to do with the state of affairs in the world today.

I might be wrong as the article I looked at just showed her in NY, it never mentioned living there.

According to this her nose was fitted in California. Eventually she will get surgery for a more permanent solution. They mentioned she has 8 months of rehab, so I can only assume she will be close to the hospital in CA.

Edit: it does look like she is living with her host family in CA.

Thanks for the link Marc. Always some moving photos in the World Press awards. Some can be very sad and show the horrors that humans can do to themselves, the planet, and animals but then might also mean the photograph was effective in getting one to think about the subject and its ramifications. A few years ago they had a display here in BKK of the World Press winners, I can still see the image of a slaughtered gorilla being carried out of the jungle. Very sad, very moving photo, yet wish it never had to be taken--that goes for many photos.
