I meant images taken using continuous shooting.

For example, some are saying that 8 continuous shots are counted as 1, not 8. Seems strange to me and I'm not 100% certain that it's true.

Greg--If I ever need to hire a detective I will be calling you.  Laugh  Great work indeed. I cannot understand how burst mode could count only as one shutter activation when it is going up and down multiple times. Looks like your exif tool for extracting shutter counts is only good for those running Windows. I heard from another friend using a Nikon D3s and he was able to get the shutter count via Photoshop as well. Easy to do via Photoshop for a sometimes Luddite like myself, who is shooting a Nikon. Beyond me why Canon does not let one check this on every model as better to know one is close to recommended # of shutter activations than to have it break in the middle of a shoot (happened to a wedding photographer friend with his Nikon D2H), plus it is money in Canon's bank when one pays for a new shutter.

Sorry to bring up kind of an old thread, but I found this thread on Google. Gregg, I have a 1D Mk III and I tried that ExifInfo by generating the Text file with the edits you mentioned. On my camera, it does not give accurate info under "Shutter Count"  With some photos I took today, it came up as 705, and with some stuff I shot last week, it came up 5469. I've just looked through some other files from the last couple weeks and come up with some other numbers in the file as well. I am not sure what this number actually is, unless its counting perhaps how many I have shot on that individual memory card.

welcome to Photography Thailand bowler6788

Did you try the link Marc posted on the first page?

Also, do you have photoshop? As Daid outlined a few pages back, you can go to the "file info" section and grab data as well.

If you want to send me a cr.2 file I can see what I get as well

Thank you. Look forward to learning from the community here.

I did try the link. Came up as 0. Also did the Photoshop thing in CS5 on a PC and no luck their either.

Since the max file attachment allowed is 3500kb, I'll have to shoot a small raw file tomorrow when I get home and I'll attach to a post then.

Greetings Bowler. What you can do for Gregg if you want is upload the file for free using http://www.sendspace.com and then either post the link here or send it to Gregg via a personal message through the forum so that he can download the file. There is a link under his avatar to send him a personal message. I hope that helps.
