There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

Hua Hin, early morning.

Taken Feb. 2006, 7ish in the morning, using my tiny Canon G5 (I call it tiny now after using my new one with big lens). Interesting to note that in a span of 10 minutes, sky changes from bluish to gold. Boat: 200 speed, 8 AV. Single fisherman: 320, 3.2. Two fisherman:1000, 4.5.
Reasons I took these: First, so I could play with the different speed and lens opening. It has always been P (semi-auto Program) mode for me until I learned basic photography in Alliance Francaise, under Cedric Arnold. Second, I seem to be drawn on silhouettes.
If the photos seem flat and boring, please say so. I've got a long ways to go on photography and comments are very welcome so I could improve. Thanks. Anna

Nice shots Anna. The first one has great atmosphere. Two quick suggestions. I would darken the shadows about 10 points using Levels in Photoshop. This will help to make the image a bit more of a silhouette and hide some of the noise you are getting on the torso of the man on the right. Also, I would try and compose pictures by placing subjects more into the 1/3 zone either from the left or the right corner of the frame. This will give your images more depth and dimension than placing subjects right in the center of the photo. Hope this helps...
