As there have been some requests for me to arrange another Bangkok photo outing this year, I have decided to arrange one for early December. The purpose of this year's photo outing is again for photo lovers in Bangkok to make some new photo taking friends, have a reason to wipe the dust off their cameras, do some shooting together, and most importantly: HAVE SOME FUN!

THE DETAILS:

The Date: Saturday, December 4, 2010.
The Meeting Time: 12:00-12:30 PM (Noon)
The Meeting Location: Taksin Bridge Boat Pier (BTS to Taksin Bridge Station)
Equipment Required: A Digital SLR Camera and the widest angle lens you have.

THEME:

I will be taking you all on a street photo walking tour through parts of Bangkok's China Town. Part of the shooting will involve retracing my footsteps of areas that I shot for the Urban Lines project. See here for more info about Urban Lines: www.urbanlines.asia

THE FINER DETAILS:

We will board a public river boat together on the Chao Phraya river promptly at 12:30 and take it for a short, 15 minute ride to the Ratchawong Pier in China Town. Shooting will commence when we arrive at the boat pier in China Town. Shooting will run for a period of 2 to 2.5 hours. After the shooting is over, all participants are welcome to go to eat some Chinese Dim Sum and have a cold drink together in China Town.

POST OUTING RECAP:

All participants will have an opportunity after the outing to post their best photos from the outing to a special Gallery on the Forum web site. Photos will be posted to a new Gallery section on the Forum which I will create specifically for photos taken during this photo outing to make it easy for everyone to see each other's photos from the outing. Everyone can also use the Gallery system to comment on one another’s photos if they like.

COST:

There is no cost for the outing, but the outing is only open to members who support the Forum with a small donation. If you are not yet a supporter of the Forum, then you can go here to make a small donation of any amount to the Forum and join the photo outing: http://www.photographythailand.com/donations.html

SIGNUP FOR THE OUTING:

If would like to join the outing, then please sign-up by posting a message onto this message post to say you will be joining so that we know to expect you.

UPDATES:

If there are any changes or updates between now and the date of the outing, I will add the updates to this post so that everyone can stay updated about the outing.

QUESTIONS:

If you have any questions about the outing then please feel free to post them here as well.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Would have loved to attend. I'm arriving to BKK on that day at around 6 am but need to take the family and myself to Bangsaen first (that's our first point of stay), so sadly don't think I will be able to return to BKK in time to attend, but have fun everyone!

Thank you everyone who plans to join the outing. I am sure it will be fun, and hopefully we will have some beautiful weather that day too.

I am really sorry to hear you will not be able to join Alex. I was hoping you could make it. Sad

For everyone else who is planning on joining the trip, please ensure you have made a small donation to the Forum and have had your Forum user account upgraded. This is the only requirement to join this trip. As mentioned in my original post, the outing is for supporting members of the Forum. The links to make a donation are here: http://www.photographythailand.com/donations.html

Many thanks to all and looking forward to seeing you all on the 4th!

Thanks Marc. Unfortunately even though I will be in Thailand at the time, it will be too tough for me to be in BKK by 12 on the 4th. My flight arrives around 6.30 am and I do not think I will be in Bangsaen till about 10-10.30 by the time I will go through the airport, get rental car and drive to Chonburi (I have a full family with me).. I'll be after an overnight flight from Melbourne too so will probably be too exhausted and tired to enjoy the outing.

I will keep the details of the meet on me, just in case I am lucky enough to join you guys.

I hope we can catch up next time. I'm looking forward to seeing the gallery with the results!

Best to all

I'll be in Penang for the 3 day weekend. Hopefully it will be photographically fruitful.

Manfred - Many thanks. Sounds great. Just drop me a note as you said if you make a transfer and I will check to make sure I received it.

Zetigeist - Sorry to hear you can't make it and hope you enjoy Penang.

Maybe there will also be less people in Bangkok because of the long weekend making it a bit easier to walk on the streets of China Town. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
