There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

I agree, some nice images. What was nice is they were not all over processed HDR. I like HDR, and there are times when it is over processed that works--but so many times it does not. Much prefer subtle elegance utilizing HDR than viewing images than when it is overdone. There was a contest last year, and if I recall was out of the UK, where the majority of images seemed to be HDR and some were anything but subtle. I guess it is the flavor of the month.

Perfect and wonderful landscapes. Don't see the HDR's too much over processed, Davis. There are much more horrible creations out in the net.

Hans--meant that these HDR's in that link were not over processed to death. Agree that many HDR images on the web are painful to view.

Very nice picture indeed, but in my opinion it deserve the "wrong" price, the correct price should be "HDR Landscape of the year 2010 winning picture" and in this category I agree that it is a winning picture!

Because using only natural light effects (sunrise or sunset lights for example) and weather (clouds, mist etc...), we can see some amazing landscape photos on internet, simply beautiful without any post-traitment effect.

cheers

Granted these are beautiful images. To me, one of my "issues" with digital, is that of reality. When I see an Ansel, although I'm sure he played around in the darkroom, there is no question that he did the work to hit on the great lighting, a perfect subject and composition. Since the advent of CGI/photoshop, I have to ask. Is Avatar photography? ......BTW I don't have an answer

I admire Ansel Adams but it has to be said that he was a perfectionist. He spent hours in the working on one negative. I guess guess that could be called the equivalent to photoshop work....

Yes, I agree. The "only problem" I have with regular HDR, is that it looks a little too "Tim Burton" on steroids.
This image is certainly nice, and had the appearence that it was simply out-of-the-camera...

Kudos
