The sala forms part of the present museum, originally the CENSORED WORD's Palace ~ deposed in 1975 after the Pathet Lao war and exiled with his family to remote caves in the N.E. part of Laos where death was inevitable.  For those wanting a more natural and less commercial form of Thailand I would highly recommend Laos.
