I'm trying to find out if Active or Repeater cables are available in Thailand for tethered shooting with DSLR's.

This explains what I mean http://www.usbgear.com/USB_Repeater_Cable/
Guess I could use a powered hub and a long normal USB cable..?
Iv experimented tethered in LightRoom 3 with the short cable that comes with my Nikon and it all works fine,  but a long regular USB cable is not going to work because of the power.
 
If anyone has any advice re tethered with DSLR's it would be much appreciated.
