There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

Greetings Folks,

I've visiting Chiang Mai and Bangkok for a couple of weeks beginning September 9, 2010. While web surfing a few months ago I located a fairly compact list of not to be missed places for photography in and around Bangkok, which included some information on how to best get to these places, using public transit for the most part. I'm fairly certain that list was on this website, but now I cannot locate it. If my memory is correct, could someone post a link to that list. This is my first visit to Thailand, so places that may seem old hat to veterans would be great for me.

I'm really looking forward to my visit. I travel with a Canon 5DII, 24-105, 16-35 and 70-200. Perfect for travel photography, though after a long day I wished it weighed a lot less.

Thanks,

MIKE

Hello Mike,

I do not know the article you are requesting perhaps another member can be more specific.

The usual suspects are a good place to start: China Town, Wat Traimit,  Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Flower Market, Ayutthaya for a day trip, Floating Market, Ancient City. An all day Chayo Phraya River boat pass or a trip to Nonthaburi; get off the boat and walk around the town before returning to Bangkok.

Wat Arun and dinner or a drink across from Wat Arun at Arun Residence is a great way to end the day and get good images. Get off at Tha Tien Pier N8

In Chaing Mai hire a driver to take you around: Doi Satep is worth a look but I am not sure what else is available. Again perhaps others can help.

Watch your stuff Mike or else your load will be much lighter on the return flight.
