First a comment,I have been in LoS for two years now,and didn't even know that this site existed until last week, and what a fantastic resource for us like minded people, anyways back to the point I want to ask, I have 3 lenses I want to sell but cannot find a decent site to put them on, I have tried Baht and sold, teak door etc etc, I cannot put them on here because I haven't got 25 digeridoos, so can anyone inform me of any other sites I can try, some are a nightmare, because of the language barrier, E bay even worse because of Paypal, any quick help would really be appreciated. Thank you

I have never had any success selling on this forum, however I did try Craigslist as per Marc's suggestion and did sell my 5D.
I had two Canon L lenses in pristine condition that I sold to Capa in Fortune Town and another to FotoFile MBK. The lens I sold at Capa Fortune was then re-sold the very next time I went there and had to wait for service while the customer inspected my former lens. They marked it up some 7,000 THB. I did not need the money and I did not use the lens anymore so it was an easy way to get rid of it hassle free. I would also like to say that I was quoted different prices on the same lens at FotoFile Lad Pharyo and MBK.

Camera World said they would take it on consignment however I was not interested in that.

Welcome to the forum and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

tingtong10 - Some people have sold stuff on this Forum in the past. It depends a bit on what you have to sell and who is looking for what. Feel free to add the general details of what you have to sell to this post if you like. Also, as Dave said, Craigslist works too. I know the ThaiVisa.com forum section also has a photography category, but I don't know what their rules are for selling. I know they don't allow adding links, which I always feel is a bit strange when a forum does not permit links to be added to posts. Otherwise, there are also a couple of Thai photography sites where I think stuff moves pretty well in the local markets. Maybe you can get someone to post the stuff in Thai for you on those sites in order to reach the local market as well, which is certainly bigger than the foreign market:

http://www.thaidphoto.com
http://www.taklong.com

And lastly, there is www.thaisecondhand.com

P.S. - Welcome to the Forum!

An answer from the man himself, thank you very much,it is all on Thaivisa.com,have had a lot of timewasters and still no buyers, and its all up at good prices,I too do not know the reasoning for the absenteeism of adding links,it would of saved me answering questions over and over again, its now all listed and put away in some dank corner in the computer, ready for the next onslaught. I will try your suggestions, thank you for your help. I wish I had found this site when I first moved here,it is one of the very best I have been on, thank you to,too BKKDave and Dave Proctor, for your helpfullness,I will follow your leads. Mark, this is just a great site for us out here,as i said before.,I just wish I had found it earlier. If I manage to sell my gear,I wont be posting photos for a while until financial things get better,I will then go full frame, and then start again, but I will be a regular contributor in the meantime.if anybody is interested, my gear is on thaivisa.com,and I live in Khon kaen!! Somebody has to.. Roll Eyes

@ tingtong10 - Feel free to post the link to what you have on ThaiVisa if you like to make it easy for people here to see what you have. Anyway, hope you get back to shooting pictures again soon. I am also glad you like the Forum here. It is not always bustling with lots of posts, but we are a friendly bunch and normally, if a subject for discussion of interest pops up, then people join in. I also try to join in as much as possible, time permitting.

@ David Procter - Cheers for the kind words as always :)

I added a discussion point about 2 weeks ago about selling some of my gear (Ref NikonD300) and would like to say a big thank you for the response and help I got from members here. I will let you into the experience,I was able to use Photonet.com (Thailand),Craigslist, and Photohobby.net. Craigslist was by far the easiest and more ad response, Photonet, came second and Thaivisa .com coming equal second. It was quite an exasperating ordeal, but we finally got there. However, one website,Photohobby.net proved to be the opposite, mistrust over how I had advertised, had them thinking I was a spammer, and they duly ripped out my ad. To see this episode enviel, you may go onto my blog there under tingtong10, I look back on it now as amusing, but at the time it was nearly bitter warfare. I had no problem whatsoever in my dealings with the previous three websites, I duly loaded what I had to sell and that was it,so why did I get this problem,it was done exactly the same way,for the life of me,I shall never know. Anyway,to cut a long story short,I have now sold most of what I wanted to sell, and met some very nice people on the way,Nin,a proffesional photographer from Bangkok, and one ferang called Mike. I posted 1 item via EMS to Phuket, and we have now become friends too,so a rewarding experience that way. A great service by EMS and good price too. There is one individual to be aware if you are selling, under the name of Golf. Buyer and resaler. Cannot say you have not been warned. If anybody out there has owned or used a Contax G1 OR G2 before, and could find the time to give me some advice on what their experieces where with this camera, I am quite interested in buying one in the near future, so this would come in as quite invaluable.

I shoot a Contax G1 and G2 with 21, 28, 45 and 90mm Lenses.

The G2 is significantly superior to the G1 in all aspects especially AF where the G1 is a tricky sod at times. Go for the G2.

AF and 3fps are a definite plus over the competition.

Build quality is second only to Leica and that's saying a great deal.

Rangefinder shooting is a lot different to SLR. First thing of course is no TTL viewing. This may initially confuse you but in essence it's a plus as you do not get a "blindout" (no mirror). The image is ALWAYS in view.

RF shooting is slower and more deliberate. Control of DOF via manual focusing is it's forte.

Slower handheld speeds are available due to the lack of mirror also.

Image Quality:- I also use a Leica M6 and 35mm F2 pre-asph (CENSORED WORD of Bokeh) and I'll state now that my Zeiss 45mm F2 Planar destroys it! The 45mm Zeiss is even now regarded as the finest 35mm lens ever produced.

I could go on and on but suffice to say you'll never own a better camera imho.

Take a look here for all you'll need to know

I am glad to hear you were able to sell a bunch of your stuff through the various web site. Nin sounds familiar. Is he a young guy, late twenties, wears glasses, just returned from the states?
