Hi guys,

I just found this site today and what a fantastic ressource!! Thanks for that - I hope I will be able to pay a little bit back down the line.

Now for my questions... I'll be traveling with my Nikon D300, my Nikkor AF-S 18-200mm f. 3.5 - 5.6 G ED and a Nikkor 50mm f. 1.4 D First, we go to Bangkok, then Samui and finally Phuket - 5 weeks in total. I am looking for some gear and would like some recommendations as to where I can find it as cheaply as possible.

I'm looking for a tripod for travel use and has had the Gitzo 3530 recommended. What is the best place to buy this - and what ball head would you recommend to go along with it.

I was also thinking about a wide lens... Any reccomendations?

Finally, I was thinking about a polarization filter to go with the 18-200... Any ideas?

Best regards

Peter

I just got a tripod and a head in Scotland last week, so now I'm on the lookout for a Wide Lens. I want to get the Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 DX pro. Do any of you know where to find it in Bangkok and at what price?

Best regards

Peter

P.S.: we will be arriving in little over a week, so I hope the demonstrations have calmed down by then and I hope all of you in this forum are OK?
