There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

Does anyone sell PocketWizards in bkk?  Specifically the new mini and flex models.  I don't see any vendors listed on the PocketWizard website.

I have never had something sent to me in BKK before, and never wanted to have anything of value delivered here... is there a reliable way to have something like that shipped here?

Meh... I looked everywhere for these today, and I didn't even find a single person that has any idea what the hell a PocketWizard is... one person even told me to try the toy store at CentralWorld?  hahaha  Come on, there has to be one decent photography store here? :P

Yeah, you need to have at least 10 posts made in order to access this section. Not easy with a slow board like this, as I usually hate to post meaningless dribble just to up my post count. (This post is proof of that concept).

Yes, 10 posts is required first to gain access to some of the listed info on this site which I have spent a lot of my time to compile and give away to everyone for free. The idea is to encourage people to contribute something as well in exchange for information.

I checked with the supplier though I was going to suggest and it seems they don't carry it either. Probably the best thing is to write to the company directly and ask them who their distributor is in Thailand. I often do that myself. Hope that helps.

I emailed pocketwizard, they gave me some company in Hong Kong that is apparently the distributor for this region... but that company never replied to my emails.  So I give up, I'm just ordering from the US and have my family send them to me here.  I think that will be better anyway - because the frequencies on them are different in the US versus Thailand from what I read... and I'm in the US half the year shooting weddings, so maybe best to have the US frequency.

LoL I never thought this would be so hard to find here!  Pocketwizards are pretty standard equipment aren't they?  I know there are the knock-offs u can buy here, but they don't allow you to do TTL remotely like pocketwizard or radiopopper does.  Anyway... cheers! :)

Lots of standard gear seems to be unavailable in Thailand.
Still looking for a shop to supply original gaffer tape, for instance. Or Lee (or Rosco) filters for studio flashes. Anyone?

I bought some real gaffers tape from B&H Photo when I was in NYC. Haven't been able to find any real stuff here either. Lee filters I once ordered directly from the company online. Rosco filters, are you talking about gel filters? I also bought those at B&H. Funny, those are the only 2 things I think I bought when I was there which I couldn't find regionally.

Had me some gaffer tape shipped to here from Adorama recently. No, the HomePro stuff is not comparable, unfortunately.
And yes, I was talking Gel filters. Do you get any gel filters in Thailand at all? What are studio photographers here using? Local brands? And from where?

I Can understand your point but then it will just help on the first 10 post. what happen after that? if a person prefer to remain silence they will still continue to remain silence.

However, this will be slightly troublesome for non-thais as they hope to come in here to check out some informations. at some point, we are "force" to register and post 10 non-sence post. After that get thos information required and gone forever.

I think the main problem of slow moving thread is mainly due to languege. Most of the information here are in english where i believe thai ppl are not that strong in this area and they are shy to speak out

You are right. It is not a perfect system. But it does discourage people from just leeching information without contributing anything. If non-sense posts are made then they are removed. You may be right about the language issue as well, but this was setup as an English language forum as there are other Thai photography forums that in Thai.

Sales person In Cathay Photo store in Singapore told me that Pocket Wizard forbidden for sale in Singapore (and probably in Asia) due to ability to work as bomb remote trigger.
Only way to order is by Internet out from USA.
I'm sure it must be some other ways to get it.

Just came back from Singapore today. Cathay Photo starts selling Pocket Wizard again. They told that finally Singaporean government cleared the frequency for Pocket Wizard usage there.
