There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

Who's gonna help me.
The last 6 months I have bought 6 card readers, they are all pieces of crap.
They just stop working after copying half a card, give error mssges with perfectly fine cards, or just don't work at all....
I'm getting sick of having to connect my camera to my computer every time, so who can reccomend a decent card reader, money is no object  Grin

I just buy these ones for $1 on eBay including shipping to Thailand and they work fine:

http://cgi.ebay.com/SD-SDHC-MMC-USB-Card-Reader-for-2GB-4GB-8GB-16GB-32GB_W0QQitemZ250513854963QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3a53ca11f3

I normally order 2 at a time and no problems so far.

The ones I am buying are for SD cards, but I am sure you can find them for CF as well if that is what you need.

Bjorn--I have used this for over 3 years already w/o a single problem. Happy with it as it always works. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/446772-REG/SanDisk_SDDRX4_CF_901_Extreme_FireWire_CompactFlash_Card.html    Sadly, it is more than a dollar. Marc, that you can buy your reader and have it shipped to Thailand for a buck is incredible!

I have been using the cheap card readers for years and never once had a problem (knock on wood). I wonder if there is an issue with you cards. What brand, type, format are they?

I used to suffer similar problems then I purchased a Belkin reader at a ridiculous cost (Thb 1200 I think).

CH/SD etc etc - USB and fast, really fast.

I've had this reader for some 2 years now and not once has it failed me.

In retrospect it's been cheap

Bought a Kingston Multi Card Reader at Fotofile for I think 450 Baht. Works like a charm since more than a Year, and quite fast!

Hi Bjorn, Iv'e just purchased a Apacer multi card reader for 250baht from Chi Chan in Pantip Plaza, first shop on the left as you enter main entrance, and it's brilliant, iv'e just put 130 raw files into my Canon software in 8 seconds flat, and works at the same sort of pace when working on each file, Iv'e had it nearly three weeks with no sign of failing.
