There are some photographers who are just pressing a button. And then there are the others who see the world in a very different way...

Hi there,

I am gonna start my Southeast asia trip from Bangkok and I am in need to of some equipments. I dont know if I can find them in Thailand for cheap or if I should buy them from my home country.

First of all, I need a tele zoom lens like Sigma 70-300mm or Pentax 55-300mm.

Secondly, I may need a battery grip and some memory cards like 2 or 4gbs.

Lastly, I need an underwater housing for snorkeling. I know there are some plastic water housings for SLR's that can make it down to 5 or 10 meters such as Dicapac. Is it possible to find such thing in Bangkok.

I would like to hear the price for these if you have any idea and where I can find them in Bangkok

Big Camera and a few others sell Pentax. You'll find them in most shopping malls. Most if not all Pentax lenses are available in their large stores. The one at Central World is a relatively safe bet.

Third party lenses like Sigma are not available in K-mount in Thailand. Battery grip is available for K200D and K10/20D. SD cards are very cheap here, should be around 1,500 baht or less for 8GB. I don't know about underwater housing, but there's a shop at the top floor of Pantip Plaza that sells Pentax as well as underwater gear. I don't know if they sell underwater housing for Pentax though.
